Oh summer...

Summer. We have such a love hate relationship. I love you because I can go to the pool and I hate you because you make my park runs absolute torture!
Yesterday it was pretty sunny for the most part but I live in Houston, TX and it's really hot and humid. Just walking outside makes you feel like you're in a sticky sauna. Glamorous right! I wore a hat so the sun wouldn't beat down on my face and cause my run to fall short which really helped a lot. I run a lot slower and a lot shorter during the heat but I still think it beats treadmill runs by far. I also decided to do lunges across the field in the park and after I was finished with those I started to get dizzy and had to lay down on a picnic table so I called it a day.
How that workout made me feel... Cute huh?

Here's some pictures of the park I run at

The last picture is the field in the park where I did my lunges all the way across... No shade- brutal.

As far as healthy eating goes...well not so great. Actually I was doing awesome until dinner time then I ordered Mexican food. So bad I know. I really don't know why I've been having such trouble getting back on track lately.
A few weeks ago I got down to a weight I hadn't seen since I was 15 but that time I was doing it an unhealthy way so I wanted to make sure I did it healthy this time. So I did and I got down to that weight and it was kind of like I mentally was done when I really didn't want to be and it's been hard to get back on track since then.
I have a bad binge problem and I'm either eating really healthy without cheats or the one cheat I  have turns into a night of trying to salvage all the food I can get. It's really not healthy at all the amount of calories I consume in one sitting and the guilt is no fun either. It's something I'm really trying to work on.

Have any of you ever had a problem with uncontrollable eating? If so, what has helped you?

My first post ever!

Why am I starting a blog?

Well... because it's the hip thing to do nowadays...
Just kidding. But seriously.
I'm starting a blog mainly for accountability and also to express my love for writing and keeping journals. I like to get my thoughts out there for people who may be able to relate and anything I'm struggling with I like to talk (write) about. I expect out of this blog to be mainly about keeping myself accountable with living a healthy life but you may also find me rambling about things in life that I'm struggling with because I am nowhere close to perfect and life can be hard. I find that putting goals out there really helps to motivate yourself to keep going.

Goals for myself long term
Maintain a healthy lifestyle
No more uncontrollable eating (binges)
Run regularly
Feel confident all the time
Be a better person

Goals by my birthday (August 16th)
Lose 10 pounds
Run at least 3 times a week
Eat clean 6 days out of the week
Thank you for reading! I'll be posting again soon :)
